Are you accepting new clients?

This is a great first question to ask when looking for a therapist. Unfortunately, therapists are human, and there’s only a certain number of clients we can work with at a given time; therefore, sometimes we have to kindly say “no.” It can change regularly, so don’t be afraid to ask.

So, am I accepting new clients currently? Maybe! I am taking new clients but often have to manage the number of new clients I can see per week, so if I cannot schedule you right away within the next few weeks, I may offer you the option of being on a waitlist until I have an opening in the schedule. Mental health often cannot wait, however. So, if you are looking for recommendations for other therapists who might be able to get you in sooner, or if I am not the best fit for you, I recommend searching www.inclusivetherapists.com or www.mentalhealthmatch.com in addition to a provider search through your insurance provider (followed by a good, thorough googling of the therapists you are interested in working with).

Do you take my insurance?

Maybe! I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. What you pay out of pocket will depend on your specific plan. You can call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your specific coverage is.

If you have another insurance plan, you might have out-of-network benefits. That means that even though I’m not an in-network provider, they might provide reimbursement to you for some percentage of the fee. If you have that coverage, you’ll pay my full fee, submit some paperwork to them, and then they’ll send you a check back. Again, you’ll have to ask the customer service staff with your specific plan to see if you have this kind of coverage.

My fee is currently $195 per 60-minute session. If you do not have insurance and are either unemployed or on a fixed income, I offer reduced rates of $85 and $110, respectively.

Do you offer therapy online?

I do! One of the silver-linings of Covid-19 is that I set-up telehealth capabilities, as many therapists had to do. That means, you can do therapy securely through your computer from the comfort of your home or office. Many people find it just as helpful as in-office therapy.

Insurance coverage for telehealth varies, so please check with your insurance plan before contacting me about this option.
